The newest Blue Book of Philanthropy (an annual report on China’s philanthropic development in 2015) was presented last Friday in Beijing by the Center for Social Policy Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Social Sciences Academic Press (社会科学文献出版社), and the Lingshan Society for the Advancement of Philanthropy (中国灵山公益慈善促进会). Over 40 experts on philanthropy, representatives from social organizations and media delegates joined the event. Following the ceremony, a forum was held on China’s Philanthropic Development. Ms. Yang Tuan, associate director/researcher of the Center for Social Policy Studies, kicked off the forum with a presentation of the ten talking points of philanthropy in 2015. The contributing authors of the Blue Book also further expounded upon their topics, which included charitable donations, philanthropic legislation, environmental protection, religion and philanthropy, volunteers, CSR and gender.
The Blue Book of Philanthropy is part of China’s Pishu series (皮书系列), publishing annual reports on multiple aspects of China’s development. It is a key publication for China’s 13th Five Year Plan. See a summary of the book here.
