The municipal evaluation of NGOs in Beijing officially started in March.
City-level NGOs such as community service organizations and foundations registered with the Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau before Dec 31, 2020, need to apply to participate in the assessment.
The evaluation covers Party building within the organization, internal governance, social impact, compliance with rules and regulations, and information disclosure.
The evaluation results have five levels, from 5A (AAAAA) to 1A, with 5A being the highest. Only organizations with a 3A and above evaluation result can take advantage of preferential policies when it comes to government procurement and financial support, including tax cuts.
