The Jiuting Township Charitable Project, which had been interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, resumed this spring. On March 23, the project launched an event where the community center in the town of Jiuting, Shanghai, organized 30 people with severe disabilities to visit the seaside.
When planning the event, charity workers had to take into account the need to keep car journey times as short as possible, and that any attractions visited needed to be accessible. A doctor accompanied the group throughout the trip.
The event was called “Seeing the Sea Together” and proved popular among disabled people unable to visit the seaside by themselves or with family members.
