The China Social Work Education Association received 6.5 million yuan ($913,300) from 2012 to 2021 to mobilize resources for social work services benefitting 78,000 disadvantaged people.
The association served groups like disabled children, terminally ill patients, left-behind groups and migrants through poverty alleviation and rural revitalization projects. It integrated innovation in services, talent training and professional development.
In 2021’s “Under the Sunflower” project, the association served left-behind and unsupported children in border areas. It provided child and family services, and professional training. The association guided serving disadvantaged groups in Tibet, Xinjiang and beyond.
The director said the child-centered, family-focused and community-based project offers case management, group activities, community services and capacity building.
The association oversees projects, provides training and research to optimize services. It issues guidelines, regulates teams, communicates with workers and encourages professional method innovation suiting local needs.
The association received significant government funding over 10 years to mobilize resources for social work services and innovation. With leadership, oversight and training, it advanced high-quality integrated services, education and research benefiting communities.
