The first Belt and Road “International Philanthropy Talents Exchange Program”, launched during the third World Philanthropy Forum in 2018, was held between May 10 and 17 in Hong Kong and Bangkok. The program was jointly hosted by the China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development, the Institute for Philanthropy Tsinghua University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the United Nations Development Programme. Eleven leaders from various social organizations working in China attended the event.
While in Hong Kong the delegation attended a training workshop on charity management at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, as well talks at different charity organizations including World Vision, the Hong Kong Jockey Club and the Hong Kong Red Cross. During their visit to Thailand, the delegation participated in a social organization international cooperation workshop hosted by the UNDP and visited more charity organizations, including the Rockefeller Foundation, World Vision East Asia Office, and the Asia Foundation.
The International Philanthropy Talents Exchange Program will be held regularly under the leadership of the World Philanthropy Forum. The second chapter will be held in June in Vietnam and the Philippines.
