Project Introduction
Five million Syrians have been displaced and have fled to other countries due to the Syrian Civil War that started in 2011. Accoring to the UNHCR, Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan are the three coutnries that have taken in most refugees from Syria. Syrians in Lebanon are mostly unemployed and living in poverty. To help improve their living conditions, the Peaceland Foundation initiated three programs in Lebanon targeting the education for child refugees (including Chinese and English language classes), women's economic empowerment and youth economic empowerment.
