Introduction

The future of our planet hinges on climate change; therefore, no one can stay out of it. From the UNFCCC enacted in the first Earth Summit in 1992 to the Kyoto Protocol signed in 1997 and to the Paris Agreement in 2015, the international community has been showing continuous attention to climate change, and clearly, green and low-carbon development has become a global trend. China is a major energy consumer in the world, playing a special and significant role in controlling climate change and reducing carbon emissions.

To raise awareness of the climate crisis among companies and the general public, and to promote the action and international visibility of Chinese entrepreneurs in addressing climate change, business leaders such as Wang Shi and environmentalists initiated the China Champions for Climate Action- or C Team- in 2014, with a view to building a new international platform based on exchange, mutual learning and engagement for entrepreneurs to explore green economic transformation in China.

On May 8th, 2017, C Team was formally registered and established in Shenzhen. It is committed to supporting Chinese entrepreneurs to be action leaders in addressing climate change, promoting green innovation and revolution, exploring a green and low-carbon development mode and promoting sustainable and eco-friendly development.

C Team is a tax exempt organization from 2018 to 2022, subject to renewal.
