Chinese government’s NGO funding peaks in 2012

Beginning in 2012, the Chinese central government allotted RMB 200 million to support NGOs, carrying out 377 social work projects and more than 120 training programs. The central government has also carried out pilot programs to experiment with direct registration for NGOs, simplifying earlier registration processes that restricted many NGOs from registering.
