SOEs willing to do more public good

The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) announced that State-Owned Enterprises have demonstrated more interest in CSR activities, posting 400 examples of SOE activities to benefit the public on its website. SOEs have been critiqued for utilizing their unique position to amass immense profits, while failing to give back to the public or support the disadvantaged. In recent years, government regulations have begun to require that SOEs issue annual CSR reports, which may explain the increased CSR activity.
