1. HNPW 2026 Convenes in Geneva
The United Nations Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week 2026 (HNPW 2026) was held from 2 to 12 March 2026 at the International Conference Centre Geneva (CICG) in Geneva. The event brought together representatives from United Nations entities, national governments, international organizations, and civil society organizations to discuss emerging challenges and advance collaboration in global humanitarian action.
Under the overarching theme of “Humanitarian Reset,” the conference focused on eight priority areas: accountability to affected populations, the climate crisis, inclusion, localization and coordination, security risk management, anticipatory action, organizational culture and power dynamics, and the humanitarian-development-peace nexus. These topics were explored through plenary sessions and in-depth thematic discussions.
During the week, the Beijing Peaceland Foundation organized a side event entitled “China’s Civilian Ocean-Going Medical Rescue Ships and Innovative Humanitarian Equipment Launch: Advancing Humanitarian Response through Technology and Connectivity.” The session showcased the Foundation’s practical experience in integrating technological innovation with humanitarian operations.
The Beijing Sany Foundation participated in a thematic session under the United Nations Connecting Business Initiative, during which it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). The agreement establishes a structured framework for cooperation in disaster preparedness, emergency response, and early recovery.
In addition, YouSi Public Welfare, in partnership with the Beijing Peaceland Foundation, co-hosted a side event titled “AI for Humanitarian Action: Youth-Led Innovation and Practice in Crisis Response.” The event featured in-depth discussions on rescue robotics and the ethical governance of artificial intelligence, and formally announced the establishment of the Youth Alliance for AI for Good.

2. China–Kazakhstan Youth Cultural Exchange Event Held in Beijing
On 14 March 2026, coinciding with the first day of Nauryz, Kazakhstan’s traditional New Year festival, the cultural exchange event “A Springtime Promise: China–Kazakhstan Youth Painting Friendship Together” was held in Beijing.
The event was jointly organized by the Kazakhstan Cultural Center in Beijing and the Center for International Cultural Communication (CICC), under China International Communications Group. Through art exhibitions and cultural performances, the event fostered mutual understanding and cultural exchange among young people from both countries.
More than 40 artworks created by Chinese and Kazakh youth were exhibited. The participating artists were awarded the honorary title of “Young Ambassadors of China–Kazakhstan Friendship.” Under the guidance of artists Long Niannan and Yan Mei, participants collaboratively produced a large-scale artwork integrating artistic elements from both cultures. Traditional songs and dances were also performed, offering attendees an immersive experience of Nauryz festivities.
Remarks were delivered by Shalkarbayev, Counselor of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China, and Sun Ming, Director of the CICC.
Using art as a bridge, the event helped strengthen people-to-people ties. Both sides expressed their intention to further institutionalize youth cultural exchange initiatives, thereby consolidating the foundation of China–Kazakhstan friendship.

3. CCPIT Delegation visits UK to Advance Trade and Green Cooperation
From 11 to 14 March 2026, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) organized a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to visit London and Edinburgh in the United Kingdom.
During the visit, the delegation participated in a series of high-level events, including the Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI) 2026 Terra Carta Roundtables and Exhibition – China Session, official receptions, and CEO dialogues.
Ren Hongbin, Chairman of CCPIT, held extensive discussions with representatives from the United Kingdom’s political and business sectors. During these engagements, he shared key messages from China’s “Two Sessions,” promoted the 4th China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), and highlighted opportunities under China’s forthcoming 15th Five-Year Plan, particularly in the area of green transformation.
King Charles III expressed appreciation for the work of CCPIT-related councils and shared his expectations for future cooperation.
The delegation also co-hosted the China–UK (Scotland) Business Exchange and Matchmaking Conference with the China–Britain Business Council (CBBC). Enterprises from both countries conducted in-depth exchanges and reached multiple cooperation outcomes, further strengthening the foundation for bilateral economic and trade relations, particularly in green development.
