1. The 10th Africa Vocational Skills Challenge Concludes in Kenya

The closing and award ceremony of the 10th Africa Tech Challenge, co-hosted by AVIC INNO, the Ministry of Education of Kenya, and the China Education Association for International Exchange, was held on September 1 in Nairobi. Since its launch on July 28, the competition attracted 142 teams from 12 countries including Kenya, Egypt, Côte d’Ivoire, and Ghana. Teams from Cameroon, Kenya, and Ghana won the group championships in CNC Lathe, CAD Mechanical Design, and Mobile Application Development respectively. Individual titles went to participants from Ghana, Kenya, and Egypt. At the ceremony, the 10th Anniversary Report of the Africa Tech Challenge was released, reviewing a decade of achievements and lessons learned in China-Africa cooperation on technique education and talent development.

2. The4th Soochow International Humanitarian Forum Held in Suzhou

On September 5–6, the 4th Soochow International Humanitarian Forum (SIHF) was convened in Suzhou under the theme “Humanitarian Action in the AI Era: Connectivity and Resilience.” He Wei, Vice Chairman of NPC Standing Committee and President of the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC), and Kate Forbes, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), attended the opening ceremony and delivered keynote speeches. Wang Ke, Party Secretary and Executive Vice President of RCSC, presided over the event.

The forum aimed to support the implementation of the State Council’s Opinions on Deeply Advancing the “AI+” Initiative, promote knowledge-sharing on the application of AI in the humanitarian work, and provide both Chinese and international perspectives on shaping a new paradigm of global humanitarianism.

The event was jointly hosted by the RCSC and Soochow University, organized by the China Red Cross Foundation and the International Academy of Red Cross & Red Crescent (IARC), with support from IFRC, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and sponsorship from the Yili Group. Attendees included representatives from the United Nations, Médecins Sans Frontières, 15 national Red Cross Societies, RCSC headquarters and local branches, as well as government agencies, social organizations, enterprises, and universities.

3. “Children’s Dreams – My Beautiful City and I” 4th Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau-Taiwan Children’s Painting Exchange (Macau Session)

On September 7, 2025, the Results Presentation and Exhibition of the 4th Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau-Taiwan Children’s Painting Exchange (Macau Session), themed “Children’s Dreams – My Beautiful City and I,” was successfully held at the Crowne Plaza Macau.

The event was jointly guided by Beijing Women’s Federation, the Hong Kong Federation of Women, and the Women’s General Association of Macau, and organized by the Beijing Association of Women from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese.

Bai Bing, Deputy Director-General of the Publicity and Culture Department of the Liaison Office in the Central People’s government in Macau, attended the event. Lei Xiaoning, Vice President of the Beijing Women’s Federation, delivered a video address, while Liu Jinling, President of the Women’s General Association of Macau, and Hong Yujie, Vice President of the Hong Kong Federation of Women, gave on-site remarks.

The program included three session—gest addresses, results presentation, and an aesthetic education forum—hosted respectively by Zhong Jin, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of the Beijing Association of Women from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese; Zhang Zhiyu, a board member, and Wang Xiaotong, Executive Vice President of the Event Evaluation Committee.

4. 2025 Gongyanghui Traditional Dragon Boat Competition (Florence, Italy)

On September 7, 2025, coinciding with the 55th anniversary of China-Italy diplomatic relations, the 2025 Gongyanghui Traditional Dragon Boat Competition was held for the sixth time in Florence, on the banks of the Arno River. The event further deepened cultural exchanges between traditional Chinese dragon boat heritage and European cities.

The opening ceremony was attended by Guan Zhongqi, Deputy Consul General of China in Florence; Giampiero Fossi, Mayor of Signa, Italy; He Jun, Chairman of Gongyanghui; Zhou Long, Vice Chairman and President of its Italy; along with leaders of local Chinese community associations and Italian guests from various sectors.

The program began with the national anthems of China and Italy, followed by an opening dance, dragon and lion performances, and the traditional “eye-dotting” ceremony for the Dragon King. Cultural showcases such as Longjing tea tasting added immersive experiences. The event concluded with dragon boat races featuring 16 European teams, attracting more than 10,000 spectators from around the world.
