Themed “co-building modern charity and focusing on high-quality development”, the 10th China Charity Project Exchange Exhibition was held from Sept 15 to 17 in Shenzhen.

Zhang Chunsheng, vice minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, announced the opening of this year’s China Charity Project Exchange Exhibition and attended the seminar.

Zhang stressed that it is necessary to focus on the characteristics and requirements of Chinese-style modernization, on guiding and supporting the active participation of all sectors of society and on improving transparency and credibility to promote the high-quality development of the charity sector.

It is necessary to cooperate with the Party and the government, give full play to the advantages of flexibility, diversity and accessibility of charities, and jointly improve people’s sense of gain, happiness and security, Zhang said.

A total of 2,931 organizations participated in the exhibition, showcasing 2,882 projects. The organizers also set up a “high-quality development achievements” hall and a “better life experience” hall for the audience. On the opening day of the exhibition, funds intended to connect major donation projects, purchase consumer assistance products and industrial investment exceeded 7.9 billion yuan.

Fang Guanghua, vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Zhang Wenhong, deputy secretary-general of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Li Lidong, secretary-general of the Red Cross Society of China, and Sun Zhiyang, vice governor of Guangdong Province, all spoke at the seminar.
