1. China Foundation for Rural Development Hands Over Mobile Surgical Vehicles to Bangladesh

On January 14, 2026, project staff from the International Development Department of the China Foundation for Rural Development (CFRD) traveled to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) of Bangladesh. Witnessed by Li Shaopeng, Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bangladesh, the Foundation signed the handover documents for mobile surgical vehicles with the NICVD, marking the official transfer of the donated medical supplies to Bangladesh.

2. China–Laos Drinking Water Project Benefits 1,200 Residents in Luang Prabang

From January 14 to 17, 2026, the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, the Lancang-Mekong Water Resources Cooperation Center, the Changjiang River Scientific Research Institute of the Changjiang Water Resources Commission, and other organizations jointly carried out the equipment commissioning for the “Lao Drinking Water Safety Phase II Project” in Luang Prabang Province, Laos, continuing to promote the “Lancang-Mekong Sweet Spring Initiative.”

During this period, three small-scale water purification stations were installed and commissioned, alongside water quality testing training conducted to help local communities establish self-mmanaged operation and maintenance mechanisms. This effort has resolved clean drinking water challenges for over 1,200 residents across four villages. The project has been welcomed by local villagers, easing water access difficulties and supporting local livelihood and income generation activities.

The initiative embodies a spirit of mutual assistance and friendship, demonstrating a pragmatic humanitarian commitment to building a Lancang-Mekong community with a shared future. It not only provides stable and safe drinking water to local communities but also shares China’s experience and technology in rural drinking water safety, shifting support from infrastructure delivery to capacity building. This effort strengthens connectivity between the Chinese and Lao peoples and provides a successful model of community-driven livelihood cooperation.

3. Silk Road Youth Film Exhibition and Exchange Held in Xi’an

On January 18, 2026, the Shaanxi Exhibition of the “Youth Bonds on the Silk Road” International Youth Video Exchange Program Shaanxi Creative Camp and Outstanding Works Showcase, co-guided by the International Cooperation Department of the National Radio and Television Administration, the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, the Information Office of the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government, and Xi’an Jiaotong University, was held at the Xi’an Chang’an Academy. More than 60 young creators from 15 countries participated in film creation exchanges and cross-cultural creative dialogue.

As a comprehensive international cultural event integrating training, creation, screening, and exchange, the exhibition attracted over 600 submissions in more than 10 languages, including English, Russian, Arabic, and French. The works covered various formats such as short fiction films, documentaries, animations, short videos, and micro-dramas. The event featured a series of activities, including the presentation of appointment letters to participants of the “Youth Bonds on the Silk Road” Shaanxi Creative Camp, the joint launch of the “University Alliance of Silk Road International Communication,” expert keynote speeches, and a roundtable discussion among cultural ambassadors from different countries.

The exhibition not only provided a high-quality platform for young filmmakers from around the world to showcase their work and learn from one another, but also built a cultural bridge connecting people across borders. Young people are becoming a driving force in fostering cultural exchange and mutual understanding among Belt and Road countries, contributing to a shared future for humanity.

4. “Convergence of Wisdom Boundless Innovation” – The 3rd Global Health Industry Innovation Conference Held in Beijing

On January 18, 2026, the “Convergence of Wisdom · Boundless Innovation” 3rd Global Health Industry Innovation Conference, guided by the Beijing Municipal Health Commission and the Zhongguancun Science City Administrative Committee, and hosted by the Beijing Tsinghua Industrial R&D Institute and the Global Health Innovation Center, was held at the Zhongguancun International Innovation Center in Beijing.

Themed “Convergence of Wisdom · Boundless Innovation,” the conference aimed to gather global insights, break down disciplinary and regional barriers, and jointly promote innovation and development in the health industry. The event featured speeches and sharing sessions by numerous Chinese and international experts and academicians, focusing on the future of the health industry—converging wisdom, breaking boundaries, and shaping a new blueprint for human health in the era of digital intelligence. Additionally, 12 parallel forums explored how digital technologies are transforming traditional healthcare, providing innovative solutions for precision diagnosis, intelligent treatment, drug development, and whole-life-cycle health management.

5. The 5th Belt and Road International Global Cooperation Forum and Cultural Friendship Night for Diplomats in China Successfully Concluded in Beijing

On January 18, 2026, the 5th Belt and Road International Global Cooperation Forum and Cultural Friendship Night for Diplomats in China, under the Ambassadors’ Salon series, successfully concluded in Beijing. Guided by the Economic Joint Committee of China Commercial Stock Enterprises, the event was hosted by its Platform Economy Development Committee, organized by Hainan Baiguo Zhenxuanguan Import and Export Trade Co., Ltd. and the Ambassador’s Reception Salon (Beijing Hall), co-organized by Xusheng Oriental (Beijing) Culture Media Co., Ltd., and supported by embassies of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) partner countries in China. More than 300 attendees, including diplomatic envoys from BRI partner countries in China, leaders of various industry associations, and corporate representatives, gathered for in-depth discussions on cultural exchange, trade cooperation, and the global expansion of industry-education. Together, they explored new pathways for international cooperation, building a high-level bridge of dialogue and practical engagement to support the high-quality global development of Chinese enterprises.
