The General Offices of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in China, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Comprehensive Department of the National Energy Administration issued the Notice on Carrying out the 2024 Promotion Activities for New Energy Vehicles in Rural Areas on May 15th.
The notice states that from May to December 2024, officials will select new energy vehicle models with good reputation and reliable quality for host centralized exhibition, test drive, and other activities in rural areas.
They will also organize battery charging and swapping services, as well as financial services such as new energy vehicle insurance, claims, and credit, as well as after-sales maintenance and repair services, to address the shortcomings in the supporting infrastructure in rural areas.
The relevant support policies, such as the “trade-in” program for automobiles and the improvement of county-level charging and swapping facilities, will be implemented to deliver tangible benefits directly to consumers.
The goal is to bring the advantages of new energy vehicles to rural consumers and promote the development of the new energy vehicle market in rural areas.
