The Social Organization Law Enforcement Supervision Bureau of the Ministry of Civil Affairs released a list of 10 social organizations that have recently been banned on April 8. The organizations are as follows:

  1. China Quality Certification Supervision Commission (listed as a suspected illegal social organization by the Ministry of Civil Affairs);
  2. China Product Quality and Safety Supervision Center (banned by Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau);
  3. China Famous Brand Product Brand Management Center (banned by Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau);
  4. China Product Quality Inspection and Supervision Center (banned by Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau);
  5. China Enterprise Rating Management Committee (banned by Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau);
  6. China Commodity Quality Famous Brand Promotion Center (banned by Zhejiang Provincial Civil Affairs Bureau);
  7. China Light and Medium Product Quality Assurance Center (banned by Zhejiang Provincial Civil Affairs Bureau);
  8. China Product Quality Certification Supervision and Administration Center (listed as a suspected illegal social organization by Guangdong Provincial Civil Affairs Bureau);
  9. Sichuan Provincial Market Supervision and Management Quality Center (listed as a suspected illegal social organization by Zhejiang Provincial Civil Affairs Bureau);
  10. Shi-Yan City Product Quality Association (listed as a suspected illegal social organization by Shi-Yan City Civil Affairs Department, Hubei Province).

The organizations listed are not government departments but have ambiguous names that could potentially mislead people. They can finally be identified thanks to numerous messages sent to the official website of the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

The bureau has requested that members of the public inform the police if there is evidence that any of the listed organizations are still operating.

It is also calling for people to continue to provide information about the activities of suspected illegal social organizations through the Government Service Platform of Chinese Social Organizations (https://chinanpo.mca.gov.cn), or via the platform’s official WeChat account (chinanpogov).

Using the above platform, people can also verify social organizations’ registration information.
