Project Introduction
Nigeria is the most densely populated country in Africa, with a population of more than 174 million people. Poverty has become widespread in Nigeria as the population has increased. Despite having sufficient surface water and underground water to meet demand, some areas especially in northern Nigeria face severe water shortages due to poor water resource allocation and drastically changing rainfall parterns. The China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation started the Clean Water Project in Nigerian Local Communities to help local communities, including poor women and chilren, to obtain clean water, and therefore improve their quality of life and sanitation.
