Introduction
World Vision is a child-focused relief, development and advocacy organization that is dedicated to serve vulnerable children, families and communities in impoverished regions. World Vision currently works in 100 countries and territories across the world.

In 1962, Hong Kong was severely hit by Typhoon Wanda. World Vision responded to the disaster by sending relief aid to help those affected by the flood. An office was set up in Hong Kong afterwards to continue the work.

In 1982, World Vision joined in the relief efforts of the Qinghai flood disaster in China. With the encouraging support from the Central and local governments, World Vision laid a good foundation in China.

In 1993, the China Ministry Department of World Vision Hong Kong became World Vision China to further its mission of alleviating poverty and contributing to development in China.
In accordance to “The Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Administration of Activities of Overseas Nongovernmental Organizations in the Mainland of China”, World Vision China officially registered representative offices in Guangdong, Yunnan, Guizhou, Jiangxi, Tianjin, Guangxi, Shaanxi and Hebei.

We work with the government, civil society organizations, corporations, academic institutions and others to effectively mobilize our expertise and resources to achieve sustainable development goals that focuses on child well-being, caring for and helping the most vulnerable children.

In 2020, World Vision China operated 26 Area Programs that directly benefitted 46,980 children and served more than 1.86 million people in China.
