The UBS Optimus Foundation is a philanthropic foundation attached to the Swiss multinational investment bank and financial services company UB S Group AG. The foundation aims at utilizing their client donations to empower the world’s most vulnerable children and accelerate positive social change.
Operated by a team of professionals in the philanthropy sector, the UBS Optimus Foundation takes a business-minded approach to philanthropy. A project must pass a rigorous evaluation and selection process to be considered for the foundation’s funding. Only approximately 5% of all potential projects are said to meet the foundation’s standards. UBS then co-funds selected projects and covers all executive costs so that all client offerings can directly go to the children in need.
Since 2001, over 80 projects in China have been funded by the UBS Optimus Foundation with an amount of donation over 77 million Swiss Franc, taking over 20% of the foundation’s global funding in the same period.
