Believing the future of China lies in education. We aspire to improving the quality of education through promotion of moral education, Chinese culture, and integration with world’s civilisation, as a contribution to our country.
Tin Ka Ping Foundation (The Foundation) was founded in 1982. It strives to support the education sector and other charitable endeavours in the Greater China Region. The future of China lies in education. The Foundation upholds its mission to improving the quality of basic education in China. This is in fact the belief of my father, Dr. TIN Ka Ping, and it has been the focus of our continued effort. The Foundation works in line with the local and national education policies and strategies. Since 2010, the Foundation has been transforming its operation and structure towards a professional governance while taking on major projects for school and student development, teachers and principals’ trainings across mainland China. We believe China’s economic development underscores the importance of education quality at primary and secondary level, particularly in rural areas where we are committed to serve with our best. I hope this website will introduce you foundation’s history and our work, and your valuable suggestions for us to improve are always appreciated.
I would like also thank all the volunteers who have contributed selflessly; all their professionism and expertise have empowered us in the pursuit for better governance and development.
Tin Hing Sin, Chairman of the Board
Tin Ka Ping Foundation is a charitable organization founded in 1982 by Dr. TIN Ka Ping. The Foundation is devoted to its charitable causes and aspires to promoting cultural and educational development, improving the quality of education as its contribution to China’s advancement. The Foundation is managed rigorously by a team of professionals and funded by assets donated by Dr. Tin and his family.
Since the beginning of the Foundation, Dr Tin, with full support of his family and helping hands from the community, has funded countless charitable projects. In 1983, “Po Leung Kuk Tin Ka Ping Kindergarten” was established as the first school named in his honour. In 1984, “Guangdong Dapu County Tin Ka Ping No.1 Secondary School” was opened and then in 1987, “Yan Oi Tong Tin Ka Ping Secondary School”. In 1994, with Hong Kong government’s approval, the Foundation started to run a new school, “Tin Ka Ping Secondary School” in Fanling, Hong Kong’s New Territories.
The Foundation then extended its reach to Guangdong, and further to other parts of China. To date, the foundation has funded 92 tertiary institutions, 166 Tin Ka Ping secondary schools, 41 Tin Ka Ping primary schools, 19 Tin Ka Ping colleges and kindergartens, over 1800 rural libraries, 29 hospitals, and about 130 bridges and roads across 34 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions.
