The Leprosy Project

The Leprosy Project works to eliminate leprosy and the social prejudices associated with it. The organization attacks the existing fear, ignorance, and ineffective treatments of leprosy by running a series of programs addressing the fundamental problems of public health, infrastructure, and education in targeted villages.

In China, the Leprosy Project currently serves 16 villages with leprosy in the mountainous areas of Sichuan. Through monthly visits by the organization’s medical staff based in Xichang, the Leprosy Project educates local doctors and villagers about the early detection of leprosy.
