The Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture (SFSA) aims to improve livelihoods for small-scale farmers through agriservices, risk management and financial inclusion, providing access to seeds, as well as general research and development.
SFSA began working in Gansu in 2018. The goals of this project are to increase the agricultural productivity, quality, and income opportunities of small-scale farmers in project locations. SFSA is currently planning to begin working on a project improving kiwi fruit production and market linkages in Sichuan.
Additional programs include the Syngenta Sustainable Agriculture Program (SSAP), which provides scholarships to students to study agriculture, and also funds young agricultural professionals in order to promote agricultural sustainability as well as biodiversity among other goals.
SFSA also holds workshops and works with relevant government organizations to fulfill its mission.
