Society of Entrepreneurs and Ecology, also known as SEE Conservation, was founded in 2004 by a large group of entrepreneurs in the Tengger Dessert, Inner Mongolia. Initially, SEE aimed to prevent further desertification in the Tengger Dessert, and gradually expanded into 30 eco-friendly projects nationwide. Their current mission is to promote advancements of environmental charities, social responsibility and to construct a framework for environmental organizations. Until 2021, in the field of environmental protection, SEE has established 15 institutions, supported nearly 700 NGOs in China and influenced over 600 million enthusiasts. Currently, this organization is entering a new stage and organizing more resources to support their platform and eco-friendly strategy.
In SEE’s project center, there are 30 ongoing projects with regional focuses. SEE expressed it is more effective to target local problems by mobilizing local activists. Their work is divided into regional project centers. The project progresses are published in details in SEE’s annual reports. As SEE is an organization for entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs can become members in order to participate in projects, learn about sustainable development and contribute to a green economic transformation for corporations.
SEE-TNC Ecological Award; Issued by this organization to encourage environmental protection, it has become China's largest domestic private environmental award.
