Introduction

Promoting community-based service models and improving the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilites.

Goals

To enable the intellectually disabled to equally participate in community construction, and to share the fruits of civilization.

  • Misereor Development Fund Project
  • Canada Fund “Rights Protection for the Intellectually Disabled and Public Education” Project
  • China Charities Aid Foundation for Children “Happy Child Pottery Workshop” Project
  • Central Government-supported “Lanzhou Huiling Promotion of Community-Based Services” Project
  • Annual Charity Activities, including Lanzhou Huiling Charity Run, Lanzhou Huiling Intellectual Disabilities Games, Lanzhou Huiling Intellectual Disabilities Art Exhibition, Lanzhou Huiling Charity Dinner

Major Achievements

  • 2011, Lanzhou Municipal CPC, Lanzhou Municipal People's Government, “Intellectual Disabilities Home”
  • 2011, Ministry of Civil Affairs “China Charity Transparency Report” ranked 65 out of 1000 national organizations, 5 out of Western China organizations and 1 for Civil Non-Enterprise Units, an overall 4-star rating in the China Charity Transparency Index
  • 2012, Member of the China Social Work Association
  • 2012, First unit in Gansu to be part of the Central Government-Supported Social Organization Participatory Social Services Project

We use a variety of methods such as daily training, arts conditioning, community residence, parental support, and vocational skills training to promote a community-based model of intellectual disabilities, supporting individualization and normalization, with people as our focus.
