International China Concern is a Christian development organisation dedicated to changing lives by bringing love, hope and opportunity to China’s abandoned and disabled children.
Established in 1993 to improve care for abandoned and disabled children in China, ICC is a Christian development organization with a network of supporters in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Netherlands, United Kingdom and USA.
In 1995 ICC established a residential home in Changsha, Hunan, providing accommodation for 30 abandoned children, all of whom had some level of disability. The organisation now runs multiple residential facilities caring for more than 240 children in their direct care within Changsha and Hengyang. Local Chinese staff receive extensive, hands on experience and hold positions at all levels in the organisation.
Working also in the area of abandonment prevention, ICC operates a Community Outreach Project, offering essential support services to parents in the Community with a disabled child.
ICC offers training in care services, therapy and special education to orphanage workers using the work in their Changsha and Hengyang projects as an example of what can be achieved.
Each year, ICC brings to China several teams of international volunteers with diverse expertise to care for children with disabilities.
