Major Achievements

Green Hunan is the first environmental NGO that focuses on environment problems in the Xiangjiang River Basin. The “Xiangjiang Watcher” project has established monitoring spots and environmental accident action teams close to 5 tributary rivers and in 3 heavy metal pollution areas, which are able to immediately assist during pollution incidents.

Distinctions

We believe that the right to knowledge is essential, and that environmental protection should be the base for both action and decision-making. We focus on taking advantage of opportunities for environmental protection at the local level, and we emphasize the protection of Xiangjiang River Basin. We combine subjective investigation and objective research in order to promote the right to knowledge about environmental protection.
