Founded in 2002, GlobalGiving is a global crowdfunding platform for nonprofits. GlobalGiving began facilitating donations to Chinese organizations in 2008. Since then, GlobalGiving has dispersed 185 grants to 68 organizations in Beijing, Chongqing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Hubei, Yunnan, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Guangdong and Shaanxi. GlobalGiving also donated several hundred thousand dollars of relief aid to help recovery after the 2008 Sichuan earthquake.
The organization officially registered in Shanghai in June 2018, where its largest partner is the Ford Motor Company Fund.
