Introduction

Responding to health crises such as AIDS, developing gay culture, and advancing gay rights.

Goals

To utilize “Collaboration, Participation, Consideration, and Action” as our best strategy for addressing societal challenges facing the gay community. To utilize the concept of empowerment as our guide, and to participate in the healthy development of the gay community, to focus on the living conditions of gay people, and to collaborate with the government to carry out AIDS prevention work.

Major Projects

  • May 2010 – March 2011, Chengdu MSM Comprehensive AIDS Intervention
  • October 2010 – October 2011, Sichuan, Hubei, Qinghai, Chongqing, Tibet Community Organization Capacity Building Training
  • December 2010 – April 2011, Epidemiology Research on HIV/HPV in Gay Men
  • January 2011 – December 2011, Chengdu Gay Community “Quality Counseling to Facilitate Detection” Project
  • July 2011 – April 2012, Advocacy Capacity Building Project
  • In 2004 we registered as a business; we are currently n the process of registering with the Ministry of Civil Affairs

Major Achievements

  • 2007 – Present, We were selected as advisors for the Center for Disease Control's Gay Men AIDS Prevention Program, China Global Fund AIDS Experts, China Global Fund Medical Advocacy Experts, and China Global Fund's only community expert.
  • October 2011, Program Director Xiaodong Wang was selected to received the Barry & Martin's Trust “Barry & Martin Award”
  • December 2011, Xiaodong Wang represented social organizations in Premier Wen Jiabao's AIDS Prevention Symposium.

Distinctions

Part of the gay male community, collaborating with domestic and international organizations, we are more effectively able to respond to health crises such as AIDS. Through collaboration with the media, we are able to share an image of an active, healthy gay culture with the public.
