Full time, based in Beijing

Background

Building on the growing international interest in the circular economy as a positive growth strategy, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation is working with its partners to deliver our mission in China. The overall objective of the China Programme is to build on existing awareness, and to mobilise a broader momentum and focus on the circular economy in both public and private sectors, and to present the circular economy as an enabler to better forms of economic growth.

As a Project Analyst in our team, you will be responsible for supporting the EMF initiative teams in China to implement robust and successful project delivery towards a circular economy. You will support the project teams by conducting research and analysis, managing and implementing projects, and facilitating knowledge exchange through workshops, meetings, and events.

Role and responsibilities:

Research and analysis support - Working along with various projects and initiatives of the China Program to facilitate research and generate insights (a report, case studies, and other assets) collaborating with the EMF team, external research, and business partners.

Facilitate project management - Facilitating projects within a program and team or being entrusted by the line manager to lead a specific aspect of projects, including but not limited to implementing project plans and tracking progress against this, managing the network, organizing events, and facilitating project comms efforts.

Events and activities - Leading the development and facilitation of project workshops, meetings, and other events, if required, and effectively concluding productive outcomes.

Support relationship management.

Internal - Working with the project team and other teams in the Foundation to make sure a successful delivery of projects.

External - Working with a wide range of stakeholders ranging from companies, policymakers, NGOs, Philanthropic organisations, and others – to drive project progress in China. Manage relationships and identify opportunities to grow the EMF network.

Your profile:

  • Working experience or professional education in the environment protection-related sector and working experience with an NGO is a strong preference for this role.
  • A good academic record and degree-level qualifications in environmental, business, economics, political science, or other relevant discipline.
  • ​2-4 years’ experience in project management, strategy consulting, and research is required.
  • Experience of managing or supporting projects and managing relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the specific areas and industries of focus in China is advantageous, (e.g., plastics, renewables, food etc) and a background in an international environmental governance context would be helpful.
  • You must have the right to work in China without employer sponsorship.
