CFA Institute is seeking a strategic, bilingual professional to join our team in Beijing as Director, Society Relations and Member Services, China. This is a rare opportunity to represent CFA Institute in China while strengthening ties with societies, members, and institutional stakeholders to advance the investment profession.
What You’ll Do
Serve as CFA Institute’s primary liaison with our four CFA Societies in Mainland China, supporting business planning, governance, volunteer engagement, and local execution of global priorities.
Line manage the Membership Manager, China and oversee the integrated delivery of member engagement, retention, and value creation strategies across career development, learning, and community.
Support and guide societies on stakeholder engagement, including relationships with regulators, employers, universities, and other key partners.
Deliver tailored projects and strategic initiatives in China that align with broader global strategies and society operating standards.
Represent China’s society and member priorities internally, partnering with regional and global teams on cross-functional initiatives (e.g. marketing, compliance, events, research).
Contribute to the development and execution of the Society Leadership Conference and other key regional convenings.
Ensure compliance with local legal and regulatory frameworks in all society and membership activities.
What We’re Looking For
Bilingual fluency in Mandarin and English—written and spoken—with confidence communicating with senior stakeholders.
At least 10 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, working with professional associations, chambers of commerce, or non-profit organisations—particularly those with volunteer leadership or a membership base.
Proven ability to manage relationships with C-suite executives, volunteer leaders, and cross-functional internal stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience in operational and project management, including planning cycles, governance and compliance, and cross-functional delivery.
Strong executive presence with excellent interpersonal, presentation, and strategic influencing skills.
A self-starter who is proactive, detail-oriented, culturally aware, and comfortable working across time zones and reporting lines.
