Assisting the rural poor in China to improve their living standards and enhance their development capabilities
The Institute for Integrated Rural Development Hong Kong (IRD) aims at improving the quality of life and development capabilities of disadvantaged rural areas in China through funding, research, and development projects. Equipped with a team of research and development professionals, IRD hopes to contribute to the reduction of poverty through integrated development of the land, education, medical care, and community development.
The primary focus of IRD projects is chronically supporting unprivileged students in rural areas, and these projects are mainly operated in national poverty counties in the Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan Province and Guizhou Province.
