Waging Peace Through International Volunteer Programs
Enjoying a partnership with the UN and UNICEF, Global Volunteers organizes international volunteer programs and mobilizes volunteers to serve communities and families in need in a wide range of countries. Mostly led by local managers, Global Volunteers’ projects focus on but are not limited to children’s security, hunger and poverty reduction, and educational assistance. In the past three decades, Global Volunteers have sent over 33,000 volunteers of all ages abroad to more than 30 countries.
In 1996, the organization started its volunteering program in China and has been calling for volunteers to teach English to Chinese children and teachers.
