Chinese Social organizations participate in the Second United Nations World Summit for Social Development.
The Second United Nations World Summit for Social Development was held in Doha, Qatar, from November 4th to 6th, 2025. The summit hosted about 14,000 participants, including over 40 heads of state and government officials.
Qatar’s head of state, who also served as president of the conference, announced the adoption of the Doha Political Declaration. During the conference, UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for addressing global poverty and wealth imbalances. Chinese Vice President Han Zheng put forward four development suggestions, advocating for amplifying the governance voices of developing countries.
Several Chinese welfare organizations were invited to participate in the conference. Among them were China NGO Network for International Exchanges (CNIE), China Association for NGO Cooperation (CANGO), Beijing Guangming Charity Foundation, Finance Center for South-South Cooperation (FCSSC), and Beijing Peaceland Foundation.
On November 5th, various organizations, with the support of Tencent, collaborated to host an event titled: From Digital Empowerment to Social Inclusion: Nurturing a Future of Diversity and Coexistence. In addition, the China Association for NGO Cooperation and the Beijing Guangming Charity Foundation hosted online events respectively titled Shifting the Silence: Empowering Marginalized Voices through Digital Technology and Fortifying Resilient Communities: Pathways to Mental Empowerment and Social Inclusion.
Several other social organizations, including CNIE, CANGO, and the Beijing Guangming Charity Foundation, organized an offline exhibition to showcase their practices in sustainable development and share China’s public welfare experience and models.
