Job Description

CFA Institute is seeking a Membership Manager, China to join our Global Partnership & Client Solutions (GPCS) team in Beijing. This individual contributor role blends strategy with hands-on execution, offering a unique opportunity to localise global membership initiatives while addressing the evolving needs of CFA charterholders and members in China.

You’ll be part of a globally connected team with the autonomy to drive member value in a high-growth region and the support of strong senior leadership advocacy.

What You’ll Do

  • Localise and implement global membership strategies to deliver tailored value and engagement for members in China
  • Lead regional initiatives such as mentoring programmes, career development events, and job board rollouts—coordinating stakeholders and managing end-to-end delivery
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with global teams (Membership, Marketing, Research, Education, Events) and external partners (societies, chambers, providers) to amplify member value
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on member engagement, retention, and satisfaction metrics—using insights to inform and evolve local strategy
  • Coordinate and drive retention and re-engagement campaigns, setting local targets and measuring effectiveness
  • Act as a key escalation point for complex membership queries, working closely with Membership Operations and CX teams
  • Represent CFA Institute at member-facing events, advocating for the charterholder community and delivering thought leadership where needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Based in Beijing, fluent in Mandarin and English
  • 7+ years of experience in member engagement, stakeholder management, alumni/community relations, or customer success, preferably in an international context
  • Strong project management skills—with proven experience leading multi-phase initiatives across global teams
  • Experience engaging stakeholders across functions and time zones, with the ability to influence without formal authority
  • Strategic mindset with operational agility—comfortable zooming in/out to set direction and deliver
  • Familiarity with the investment or financial services landscape in China is highly desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with cultural fluency and professional presence

Why Join Us

  • Shape and own the member engagement strategy for a critical growth market at CFA Institute
  • Strategic, high-impact, and highly visible role with a mix of autonomy and global collaboration
  • Greenfield opportunity to create, localise, and evolve new member offerings
  • Access to a mission-driven global network committed to professional excellence, ethics, and investor trust
