On the morning of July 6, the “Harmonious Coexistence Between Humans and Nature • Global Collaborative Development for Green Transformation” sub‑forum of Eco Forum Global Guiyang 2025 was held at the International Ecological Conference Centre in Guiyang, Guizhou Province. Wang Zhengang, Deputy Secretary‑General of the China Environmental Protection Foundation, delivered the keynote address, focusing on the global climate crisis, China’s green transition practices, and the strategic direction of the Zhenhua Green Transition and Sustainable Development Fund. He called on all sectors of society to unite in building green public welfare and contributing to global low‑carbon development.
Wang Zhengang highlighted that global climate change is threatening ecological balance and humanity’s sustainable development at an unprecedented pace. According to the World Meteorological Organization, the global mean temperature has risen by 1.1 °C above pre‑industrial levels, with increasingly frequent extreme weather events. The United Nations Environment Programme forecasts that temperatures could rise by 2.6 °C to 3.1 °C by the end of this century under current policies, far exceeding the 1.5 °C safety threshold set by the Paris Agreement. He emphasized that the traditional development model is no longer sustainable and that a comprehensive, rapid, and equitable green transition is humanity’s only path to survival.
“In the face of this grave situation, China has issued a series of top‑level design documents to support global low‑carbon development” Wang Zhengang remarked. “Since its inception, the Zhenhua Green Transition and Sustainable Development Fund has garnered support from both domestic and international stakeholders. Moving forward, it will adhere to the principles of cooperation, openness, public welfare, and win‑win outcomes, explore new pathways for green transition, and establish innovative models for sustainable development.” He urged more institutions and partners to join forces, take concrete actions against climate change, and collectively safeguard humanity’s future.
“Now is the future, and action is the answer.” Wang emphasized in closing his address. He stressed that forging global consensus and implementing concrete measures are essential to achieving harmonious coexistence between humans and nature through the green transition.
