A new set of opinions has been released to promote China’s rural revitalization through the culture industry, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism website.
Issued by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the National Rural Revitalization Bureau, and China Development Bank, “The Opinions on Promoting Cultural Industry to Empower Rural Revitalization” suggest implementing measures to enable the culture industry to contribute to the general rural revitalization plan.
The key areas of the culture industry specified in the opinions include creative design, performance, music, fine art, handicrafts, and cultural and tourism integration.
Cultural and tourism administrative departments at all levels should come up with policies and measures and establish effective mechanisms to guide cultural industry practitioners, entrepreneurs, volunteers, teachers and college students to travel deep into rural areas to support and invest in business development.
The opinions also emphasize that think tanks, research institutions, industry associations, various social organizations, and foundations in the cultural and tourism fields are encouraged to actively participate.
