On 15 July 2025, the “Health for All and Sustainable Development Forum” energized discussions at the UN Church Center in New York as an official side event of the UN High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development. The event, co-hosted by the Guangming Charity Foundation (UNGMF), a 4A-rated non-public charity with UN ECOSOC Special Consultative Status, and the Global Alliance for Sustainable Development Foundation, put a spotlight on SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.
Bringing together health experts, NGO leaders, and global development stakeholders, the forum explored how inclusive health governance and cross-border partnerships can accelerate progress toward universal health. Leading the Chinese delegation, UNGME Chair Ms. Li Lin was joined by Dr. Alan Zhaoqiong (international advisor), Ms. Xue Kuiyang (Head of International Affairs), and other senior representatives, signaling the foundation’s strong commitment to global collaboration.
The event featured thought-provoking insights from Bruce Knotts, former Chair of the UN NGO Committee; Maryam Majidi of UNESCO’s International Centre for Creativity and Sustainable Development; and Frances Zhao of Columbia University. Together, speakers underscored the need for innovative, multi-stakeholder solutions to strengthen health systems and advance the SDGs.
The forum not only injected fresh momentum into the global health agenda but also showcased the growing engagement of Chinese civil society on the world stage. As part of the 2025 UN HLPF, it offered a vibrant platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and partnership—reaffirming a shared commitment to achieving health for all and building a sustainable future.
