1. Green Camel Bell Hosts COP30 Showcase to Promote International Collaboration on Energy Transition
On November 17, the Gansu Green Camel Bell Environment Protection and Development Center, together with civil society organizations from around the world, hosted a COP30 side event titled “Critical Minerals and Energy Transition: Focusing on Rights, Justice and Fairness”.
The event brought together community representatives, researchers, and policymakers from Latin America, Africa, Asia, and other regions to discuss how rising global demand for transition minerals is reshaping the social, environmental, and geopolitical dynamics of the Global South.
Supported by the “Yiqi Low Carbon” strategic communication micro-grant program, Green Camel Bell and Zuli River also produced a documentary on the Maqu Grasslands. The film, screened at COP30 exhibition booth, highlights the application of photovoltaic technology in pastoral areas and promotes cross-regional dialogue on clean-energy practices.
During the conference, Green Camel Bell and its partners in Benin signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Low-Carbon Transition and Climate Action, laying the foundation for deeper future collaboration on sustainable development and climate-related initiatives.

2. Western Chinese NGOs Going Global Exchange Seminar Held in Shaanxi
From November 18—19, the First Western Chinese NGOs Going Global Exchange and Seminar was held in Xi’an. The event was organized and hosted by the Shaanxi Women’s Federation (SWF) and the Shaanxi Women and Children Activity Center.
Under the theme “Gathering Civil Society Strength to Jointly Build the Belt and Road Initiative,” the seminar reviewed the practical experiences of NGOs in western China through keynote speeches, roundtable discussions, specialized training sessions, and experience-sharing. The event helped build broad consensus on cross-regional and cross-sectoral collaboration, while also establishing a new platform for cooperation and exchange among Western NGOs.
Participants expressed hopes of deepening multi-party cooperation and exploring innovate development models. Looking ahead, Western Chinese NGOs plan to consolidate resources, take a more active role in global governance, support the Belt and Road initiative with practical actions, and strengthen people-to-people connectivity to promote shared development.

3. International Retina Summit Forum of 100 (IRS100) held in Changsha
From November 21-23, the International Retina Summit (IRS100) was held in Changsha, Hunan. The event jointly hosted by Aier Eye Hospital Group and Hunan Eye Care Foundation, and co-organized by Aier Eye Hospital Changsha Medical Center.
The conference, themed “Focusing on Clinical Practice, Integrating Innovation, and Building a Brighter Future,” featured a retinal innovation, translation, and investment forum; keynote presentations; and four parallel sub-forums: Fundus Surgery, Fundus Medicine, Basic Research, and Future Ophthalmology. The agenda covered cutting-edge areas such as gene therapy, artificial intelligence, surgical robotics, and stem cell research, showcasing significant scientific progress and emerging trends in retinal medicine.
Renowned experts shared the latest research and clinical advancements, addressing key challenges in ophthalmology while promoting basic research, technological innovation, and clinical transformation. These developments offer strong support for the early diagnosis, precision treatment, and improved patient outcomes for retinal diseases.
With a 22-year history, the International Retina Summit has grown into a globally recognized academic platform for knowledge sharing and consensus-building in of ophthalmology. Leveraging this platform, Aier Eye Hospital aims to continue “share global ophthalmological wisdom,” advancing the development and application of retinal disease diagnosis and treatment technologies, and contributing to global eye health.
