1. Cambodian delegation visits the Pinglan Medical Rescue Ship
On October 31, a Cambodian delegation group visited Linhai City, Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, and toured China’s first civilian ocean-going medical rescue ship, the Pinglan.
Members of the delegation included: Thong Vathana, Second Vice President of the Cambodian Senate; Mam Bunnian, Cambodian Senator and Vice Chairman of the Friendship Group between the Senate and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference; Chea Monile, Director of the Planning and Projects Department of the Cabinet Office of the Royal Government of Cambodia; Sok Likana, Deputy Director of the Cabinet Office of the Second Vice President of the Cambodian Senate; and Wang Ke, Chairman of Beijing PinglanVice Chairman of the Taizhou Municipal Foundation.
Also attended were: Ye Haiyan, Chairman of the Taizhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference(CPPCC); Ye Lingjun, Vice Chairman of the Taizhou Municipal Committee of the CPPCC and Director of the Taizhou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office; Yan Shiping, Secretary-General of the Taizhou Municipal Committee of the CPPCC; Ma Jun, Secretary of the Linhai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC); Zhao Sheng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Linhai Municipal Committee of the CPC and Minister of the Publicity Department; and Zhao Changjiang, Vice Mayor of Linhai Municipal People’s Government.
The delegates boarded the medical rescue ship at Hongsheng Shipyard dock, and toured its functional areas such as the medical zone, rescue supplies area, and the cockpit.

2. The Alliance of National and International Science Organizations for the Belt and Road Regions (ANSO) Conference Held in Beijing
From October 28th to 29th,The Alliance of National and International Science Organizations for the Belt and Road Regions (ANSO) Conference on Science and Innovation commenced. Held at the Friendship Hotel in Beijing, the conference themed in “Enhancing the Role of Science & Technology in Promoting Sustainable Development”.
The event drew together heads of research institutions, academicians, experts, and university representatives from around the world to discuss global scientific and technological cooperation, as well as the development of the “Belt and Road” initiative.
The Science and Innovation Conference included an opening ceremony followed by a plenary session, three thematic sub-forums, and a closing ceremony. Topics covered key areas such as sustainable development, artificial intelligence development and governance, and science and technology capacity building. Talks highlighted the interdisciplinary and comprehensive nature of recent international science and technology cooperation. The conference has attracted nearly 300 experts and scholars from over 50 countries and regions along the Belt and Road Initiative.
