1. National Arts Fund Project Achievement Exhibition Opens in Macao

On February 5, 2026, the achievement exhibition of the China National Arts Fund 2025 Arts Talent Support Project — Talent Training on Cultural and Creative Design of the Maritime Silk Road opened in Macao.

The exhibition is divided into six sections: “Setting Sail,” “Exploration,” “Integration,” “Growth,” “Passing the Torch,” and “Tides,” systematically presenting the creative practices of 30 participants in the cultural interpretation of the Maritime Silk Road, design translation, and contemporary artistic expression.

The project lasted nearly one year with the Poly MGM Museum in Macao as its research and study base, and collaborated with faculty teams from the Palace Museum and the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. Participants visited five key cities along the Maritime Silk Road and underwent systematic training combining cultural theory, field research and design practice, injecting new momentum into the cultivation of cultural and creative talent.

An academic seminar themed “Creative Synergy, Cultural Renewal of the Silk Road” was held on the same day. Lou Jie, Research Fellow at the Dunhuang Academy, and Chu Yan, Professor at Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, engaged in in-depth discussions with the audience on topics such as the contemporary transformation of Silk Road aesthetics, alongside many experts and scholars from related fields.

2. Chinese Ambassador Hands Over Flood Relief Donation to Albania

On February 5, 2026, Pang Chunxue, Chinese Ambassador to Albania, traveled to Durrës to formally hand over disaster relief funds donated by the Red Cross Society of China for flood relief in Albania. The donation was received by Mr. Alushi, President of the Albanian Red Cross. Mr. Spahiu, Deputy Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, and Mr. Sako, Mayor of Durrës, were also present at the handover ceremony.

The Chinese side attaches great importance to the flood situation in Albania and hopes that the assistance provided by the Red Cross Society of China will help the Albanian people overcome the disaster and rebuild their homes. China stands ready to strengthen communication and coordination with the Albanian side and continue to offer support within its capacity, demonstrating through concrete actions the vision of “a community with a shared future for mankind” proposed by President Xi Jinping.

The Albanian side expressed gratitude for China’s timely assistance on multiple occasions when Albania faced difficulties, noting that such support reflects the deep friendship between the two countries, which the Albanian people deeply cherish. The Albanian side affirmed that it will make good use of the assistance from the Red Cross Society of China to restore normal production and daily life as soon as possible.

3. First APEC “China Year” Business Event Successfully Held in Indonesia

From February 7 to 9, 2026, a Chinese business delegation led by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) traveled to Jakarta, Indonesia, and successfully convened the first meeting of the 2026 APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC).

This year marks the 30th anniversary of ABAC’s establishment, and the meeting is the first major business event of APEC “China Year,” signaling the official launch of Asia-Pacific business cooperation for the new year.

During the meeting, business leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region engaged in in-depth discussions on four priority areas: regional economic integration, sustainable development, digital innovation, and connectivity, putting forward multiple constructive proposals, and adopted “Openness, Connectivity, and Collaboration” as the annual theme. Participants called on the Asia-Pacific to maintain open markets, accelerate economic integration, and strengthen innovation cooperation.

Acting as a bridge and facilitator, CCPIT, together with Chinese representatives, called for support for the development of the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP) during the meeting, advancing regional cooperation and receiving broad recognition.

4. “Peace House” in Gaza Jointly Launched by Multiple Chinese Public Welfare Organizations Officially Breaks Ground

On February 8, 2026, the “Peace House” project in Gaza, jointly initiated by the Beijing Lianxin Charity Foundation, Beijing One Heart Sphere Charity Foundation, Macau Lok Sin Charity, the China-Pakistan Youth Exchange Community, and the China Crescent Team(a self-organized team of caring individuals), officially broke ground.

The project aims to build a temporary shelter for the elderly, women, and children affected by the conflict. Alongside the shelter, the “Lianxin Tent School” will be set up to enable children to find peace in books.

The initiative reflects a shared commitment to providing humanitarian support and hope amid conflict.
