1. The International Bicycle Donation Project Launched in Tonga
On December 4, a donation ceremony for the International Bicycle Donation Project was held at Tonga High School. Ambassador Liu Weimin, on behalf of Chinese government, donated 100 bicycles each to Tonga High School and Tupou College and delivered a speech. The ceremony was attended by Tonga High School Principal Veikoso, Vice Principals, Nuku and Pongo of Tupou College as well as teachers and students from both schools.
The bicycles were displayed at the venue with the bilingual slogan “China-Tonga Friendship Lasts Forever” in Chinese and Tongan. Ambassador Liu and Tongan representatives jointly cut the ribbon to inaugurate the ceremony and rode bicycles around the school grounds with students.
This project marks its first implementation in the Pacific Island region and forms part of the ongoing educational cooperation between China and Tonga, highlighting the longstanding friendship between the two countries.

2. Blue Sky Rescue Team Secures Third Place at Pakistan International Rescue Challenge
On December 5, 2025, the 9th Pakistan International Volunteer CERT Challenge concluded at the Emergency Services Academy in Lahore. Coinciding with the 40th International Volunteer Day and themed “Every Contribution Matters,” the competition tested the emergency response capabilities of community rescue teams through simulated disaster scenarios, providing a platform for professional exchange among participants.
The Blue Sky Rescue Team sent an 18-member delegation and, among 63 participating teams, secured third place in the group category with outstanding speed and precision. The team recorded the fastest completion time in the event’s history and received full marks in the medical response module.
Dr. Rizwan Naseer, Founder and Director General of the Emergency Services Academy, and Zhang Yong, Founder and Chief Commander of the Blue Sky Rescue Team, agreed to further strengthen cooperation through joint training initiatives. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed to support future humanitarian rescue collaboration, contributing to professional exchanges in the rescue field and reinforcing the longstanding friendship between China and Pakistan.

3. Blue Sky Rescue Team Conducts Disaster Relief Operations in Indonesia
As of November 30, the Blue Sky Rescue Team had been conducting humanitarian assistance and medical support in the disaster-affected area of Banda Aceh, Indonesia, for ten consecutive days.
In collaboration with the Beijing Tongxinyuan Charity Foundation, the team carried out food relief operations and coordinated with the Blue Sky Rescue Team of Malaysia. The Malaysian medical team deployed nine members and several tons of relief supplies to the area. In addition, domestic disaster relief observers and five water rescue technical experts from Yunnan arrived with professional equipment.
Upon arrival, the team worked closely with local authorities and the rescue command to initiate technical support for water rescue operations. The Governor of Aceh Province personally assigned tasks. With supported from the Beijing Tongxinyuan Charity Foundation, the rescue team delivered rice to severely affected villages, and relief operations remain ongoing. A second batch of medical supplies from Malaysia was scheduled to arrive the following day.
This rescue operation reflects the spirit of Chinese civilian rescue forces in international humanitarian assistance. It demonstrates their strong sense of cross-border responsibility and provides crucial support to affected communities. The operation also strengthened coordination and cooperation with local and regional rescue teams.
