To celebrate International Women’s Day, the Women’s Union of Chicheng County, Hebei Province, organized a keynote lecture on the prevention of breast cancer.
The idea of delivering a lecture came from a charity project focusing on breast cancer prevention and care for women, which was launched by the Western Returned Scholars Foundation and Shanghai Biorhythm Ltd.. The project received support from the Women’s Union of Chicheng County.
The project has donated 500 breast health monitoring devices since its launch in February 2022, utilizing remote technology to test and track the breast health of women in 18 towns in Chicheng County.
Li Haiju, secretary-general of the Western Returned Scholars Foundation, described the project as providing cutting-edge high-tech early-stage screening for breast cancer and increasing awareness.
“The project advocates the concept of disease prevention, helps women to establish a sense of agency about their health, and enhances public awareness around health-related issues,” Li said during the lecture.
