A charity event for the Maternal and Health Promotion Project was held at the Xi’an No. 1 Hospital on April 10. Yan Feng, a member of the Working Committee on Children and Women of Xi’an and deputy inspector of the women’s federation, Ren Junheng, secretary-general of the Shaanxi Women and Children Development Foundation, and Shao Jing, vice president of the Hospital, all participated in the activity. Ren Junheng presented the hospital with the “Cervical Cancer Screening Center” on behalf of the Shaanxi Women and Children Development Foundation, and donated free HPV Cervical Cancer Screening Cards for a total value of about 300,000 yuan.
During the ceremony, Ren Junheng, Yan Feng and Shao Jing donated free cervical cancer screening cards to 300 women in the Beilin, Lianhu and Weiyang Districts of the city. At the same time, the director of the hospital’s department of obstetrics and gynaecology Song Yingchun and the director of the Department of Pathology Yan Yan attended a women’s health seminar and a training on cervical cancer screening methods and common problems.
The Maternal and Child Health Promotion Project was launched by the Shaanxi Women and Children Development Foundation for the improvement of women’s quality of life and health, the development of social harmony and stability, and enabling women to enjoy a happy life away from disease. The project consists of activities popularizing knowledge on women and children’s health, particularly related to the prevention of cervical cancers.
