Shaanxi Volunteer Mothers Association for Environmental Protection

Encouraging women’s participation in environmental protection and promoting the harmonious development of ecology and families.

Goals

To advocate the new concept of a “carbon-conscious family,” and to promote energy saving methods. To mobilize more women and their families to live “green” lives and to run low-carbon households.

• 2006 – 2010, Developed rural women’s environmental knowledge
• 2005, Promoted the development of rural natural energy sources
• 2011, Agricultural Water Conservation Model Project
• 2008.5-2011, Disaster relief and post-disaster reconstruction projects
• Public environmental protection activities

• 2002, Global Fund for Women’s 15th Anniversary Cooperation Award
• 2003, Rural Women’s Environmental Education received a Ford Motors Environmental Grant
• 2006, Ashden Sustainable Development Energy Award
• 2008, Received the honorary title, “National Outstanding March 8th Organization”
• 2010, Received the honorary title, “National Green Advanced Group”
