Introduction

Push marine environmental protection, leading better production and life style.

Goals

Carry out and organize marine environmental protection actions, promote public awareness of marine conservation, and alter the way of life and production to help cleanse the ocean.

Major Projects

  • In Sep. 16, 2007, organized the first International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) at Shanghai Nanhuizui each in mainland China, which gave birth to the “Love the Source of My Life” coastal cleanup project. The project has become Rendu’s most featured activity, widely recognized by the society;
  • In March, 2014, started scientific research on coastal cleanup, we recruited a team of researchers consisted of long term volunteers,to regularly monitor selected coastal sites;
  • Coastal Waste Civilian Monitoring Project (2014): with the help of Shenzhen Mangrove Wetlands Conservation Foundation and partners in 12 coastal cities, we plan to build 12 marine waste detection sites in the coming year.
  • “Ocean and Life” series course: starting from Nov, 2013, this project has been carring out at Fushan Foreign Language Primary School, it is designed to promote children ’s awareness of marine environment protection.

Major Achievements

  • In 2007, introduced the International Coastal Cleanup project with guidance of the Ocean Conservancy and support of State Environmental Protection Bureau and East China Sea Branch of State Oceanic Administration;
  • In 2008, became an official member of CUW (Clean Up the World);
  • In 2009, authorized by The Ocean Conservancy, became the general coordinator for the International Coastal Cleanup Project in China;
  • In 2010, “Love the Source of My life” Coastal Cleanup project won the Gold Prize by “The Keep Walking Fund”, and we became the official member of “USDO”, a self-disciplined organization of philanthropy industry;
  • Starting from 2011, we have represented China’s environmental NGOs each year to attend the “Northwestern Marine Debris Action” Inter-governmental Conference;
  • In 2012, represented China’s environmental NGOs to attend UNEP Northwestern Marine Debris Action Annual Conference (Vladivostok); “Love the Source of My life” Coastal Cleanup project was selected to attend the First China Charity Fair; “Love the Source of My life” Coastal Cleanup project was selected as 2012 Shanghai Innovation Volunteering Service Project;
  • In 2013, “Love the Source of My life” Coastal Cleanup project won Third Prize of Broadcasting, Natural Environmental Protection, Ford Motor Environmental Protection Award; “Love the Source of My life” Coastal Cleanup project won 2013 China Qingxin Excellent Environmental Protection Project Award; “Zippo’s Trip to the East” won Recommendation Prize by CCTV’s First China (Hangzhou) International Micro-Movie Festival Venture Competition; “Ocean and Life” Series Courses was selected as Shanghai Youth League Committee’s Summer Loving Essence Course; “Love the Source of My Life” Coastal Cleanup project was short-listed for the Forth Water Environmental Protection Philanthropy People Award.
