Introduction

Dedicated to improving the lives of impoverished rural communities in Asia through education and service.

Goals

We partner with communities and schools in China and Cambodia to identify local needs and to develop sustainable solutions using local participation and resources, transforming the lives of community members through education, health and service learning programs.

Major Projects

  • Education: Scholarships (high school and university), REACH student development and teacher training, GROW left behind children support, School resource materials and literacy promotion.
  • Health: HEAL community health resources and training, Drinking Water (improving access to clean water via delivery systems, cisterns, filters and wells), Animal Gift.
  • Service Learning: Support for education and health projects through short term volunteer service collaboration with educational institutions and other groups.

Major Achievements

  • Recognized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in Hong Kong for work in Jinping and Malipo counties of Yunnan province (2012).
  • ‘Exemplary Organisation’ honor by government of Renhua county of Guangdong province (2016).

Major Partners

We partner with local communities, organisations and governments to identify sources of poverty and implement programs in the areas of education and community health.

Distinctions

  • High School Scholarships have led to individual transformed lives and collective action through a local non-profit launched by a group of young women who are previous scholarship recipients.
  • Health education projects have led to improved health and life for groups of local advocates and their communities.
  • Drinking Water projects have led to better health and increased income for families.
