The Zhi-Shan Foundation Taiwan works in the field of children’s development in Asia. Based in Taiwan, Zhi-Shan has worked across Asia in the past two decades, helping over 85,000 children and providing support for their health and education. Established in 1995, Zhi-shan has been dedicated to gathering support from the general public to carry out the child-centered and cross-cultural community development work.
The Zhishan Foundation has implemented many programs in Vietnam over the years, and its work on childcare, child protection and educational support has been recognized by the government of Vietnam. It is currently partnering with Plan International to implement an Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCD) Project in Myanmar, aiming to offer quality ECCD services to children and parents in Myanmar. In 2006, Zhi-shan started an educational support program in mountainous regions of Lijiang, Yunnan to offer opportunities for around 2,500 ethnic minority girls to attend school each year. Currently its programs are extended to providing training of pre-school teachers in disadvantaged local communities to improve the welfare of left-behind children.
