Changsha Wild Life Conservation Association (CSWCA) was founded in 2004, and it is mainly based in Changsha, Hunan Province. It is dedicated to the protection of wildlife and their habitat, and to carry out education on nature, endangered species protection and rescue work for wild animals. Its aim is to lead the public to participate in the construction of an ecological civilization.
Goals
Through environmental intervention, species protection and public education, raise the public understanding of wildlife and the destruction of the ecological environmental, and raise public awareness of environmental protection.

Major Achievements
The CSWCA has been looking for a sustainable and effective way to address social problems and to bring real changes to the environment.
2013. 1-2015.5 UN Wild snake protection: through field investigation and environmental lectures, the CSWCA promoted “non-snake restaurants” and artificial snake breeding technology, having a positive effect on the wild snake protection work in China.
2013.8-2015.12 the CSWCA spent about three years advocating for the protection of the natural wetland Daze Lake and gained eventual success.
2015.7 The CSWCA exposed the truth of wild firefly business and pushed the local government to close the Juzhou firefly exhibition with their voice of justice, becoming the first environmental intervention case that grassroots NGO and the government combined together to call off the firefly exhibition.
Awards:
The Changsha Wild Snake Protection Project won the United Nations “Model Project Prize” and the Think Blue public environmental protection plan“the best environmental protection award”.
Changsha Wetland Action won the first prize of Changsha Youth social organization charity competition.
The chairman of the CSWCA Zhou Canying won the 2010 national Sibalu Ecology protection award, and was nominated as one of “Changsha’s most inspiring women”.

Distinctions
Founded in 2004, the CSWCA is a governmental organization that turned into a civil organization. This special background makes it easier for the CSWCA to cooperate with the government, so that the two sides make use of their own advantages and push for a solution to social problems.
