The Ministry of Education recently issued an official Guidance Manual on the promotion of sex and reproductive health education in primary and secondary schools.
The manual was released during the work meeting of the National Primary and Secondary School Health Education Teaching Steering Committee on July 31 in Beijing.
After the meeting, the National Primary and Secondary School Health Education Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education issued a public interpretation of the manual, introducing the background and necessity of the formulation of the Manual.
Documents such as the “Guidelines for Health Education in Primary and Secondary Schools” issued by the Ministry of Education have incorporated sexual and reproductive health education into the health education curriculum of primary and secondary schools in China. The new Manual is designed to scientifically guide teachers who carry out sexual and reproductive health education in primary and secondary schools and to improve the quality of the teaching standards on topics related to sexual and reproductive health education.
