Harmony began in 1985 from Michael Bloomfield’s vision to transform the environmental movement from dedicated activists to people from all walks of life, in their families, communities and workplaces, working together to build a future that would be ecologically sustainable and socially just. Special thanks to renowned artist and naturalist Robert Bateman for his confidence in this new endeavour which benefitted greatly from his early and ongoing encouragement and support.
Michael Bloomfield is the Founder and Executive Director of Harmony Foundation. He holds post-secondary degrees in nutrition and wildlife biology and has broad experience with environment, community development, and international issues. His insights on conflict resolution, cooperative problem solving, adult education and ethical decision-making assist the Foundation and many others to take positive action.

Harmony Foundation is a registered charitable organization (Charitable registration #: 108083973 RR 0001). It provides the education and encourages the cooperation essential to development which is socially and environmentally sustainable. Harmony is recognized internationally for its leadership in multi-sector cooperation and creating innovative training programs and educational materials for educators, youth, the workplace, local leaders and communities.
