CDP is seeking a highly motivated individual to work as a Project Officer, with keen interest in environmental reporting and transparency to support CDP’s corporate engagement work.
The position is an opportunity for an individual looking to develop a career in environmental stewardship, to contribute significantly to the vital work of CDP in improving corporate reporting and action on climate change, deforestation and water security.
In your role as Project Officer, you will work with CDP China’s Corporate and Supply Chain team to deliver capacity building, corporate engagement and advisory services to accelerate the scale and quality of corporate disclosure in China during CDP 2021 disclosure cycle.
-- Developing CDP Education Platform – Chinese version by managing website/video vendors, coordinating with colleagues in Latin America and North America to develop an online capacity building program for Chinese companies;
-- Work with CDP supply chain partners to communicate with suppliers on improving disclosure quality and paving a way for suppliers to set Science-based Targets;
-- Engaging with China public listed companies and private companies to increase the levels of corporate disclosure on climate change, water security and deforestation issues;
-- Providing support for CDP China’s Corporate and Supply Chain team to deliver Reporter Services products, including question-level gap analysis exercises of CDP climate change, forests and/or water security disclosures, data analysis & peer benchmarking;
-- Supporting CDP China team to deliver multi-stakeholder dialogue events, disclosure support webinars and workshops; and
-- Project research and implementation.
Required skills and experiences
-- Master degree in major of environment, climate change, energy or sustainable development area /or bachelor degree with minimum of 2 years’ full time work experience in relevant fields;
-- Ability and willingness to work in a multi-national team with virtual communication (MS Teams etc); and
-- Excellent communication skill in Chinese and English, both in oral and written, confident verbal and written communication and presentation;
-- Proven success in providing effective administrative support with very high level of organisation and attention to detail;
--Passionate about environmental and sustainable issues with a good level of self-motivation and drive;
-- Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner;
--A clear understanding of the aims, objectives and processes of CDP and a strong conviction about CDPs impact; and
--Good working knowledge of the Microsoft office software suite.
Term and Benefits:
The role will be a full-time position based in Beijing office.
We offer a competitive salary and social, health and housing funds in accordance with local regulations, with 20 days’ vacation per year (increasing to 25), in addition to national holidays plus commercial supplemental healthcare, etc. Interested applicants must be eligible to work legally in the China.
